Catch up Time!

So I promised that I would be better at keeping this blog updated so even though nothing real exciting has happened, I'm just writing to say hello! This past weekend was fun. The apartment complex that I live in had a Halloween party. They have it every year. Actually the first one I went to was the first time I made out with Chris. Scandalous! So anyway, Chris and I are both being golfers for Halloween. I don't really like the idea, but I can't believe that he wants to dress in some what matching outfits so I'm not saying anything to him. Anyway, the party was okay. I don't really know anyone at these functions and Chris has to work for them so I'm usually by myself. I brought my friend Amanda with me who was dressed as a Banana. I'll have to post a picture when I get home because she was pretty funny.

Saturday night we went to a friend's house and pregamed with a little Rock Band 2. They have We Got the Beat on there which the girls all loved playing. It was really nice to get out and not just be with the boys. I should explain, normally its me and all of Chris' friends. Recently, we have all been spreading our wings and meeting new people. So there were other girls out with us on Saturday night which was pretty cool. I'm getting a little tired of all the guy talk. So anyhow, we went all went out to this bar we like called the Elbow Room. I crushed everyone at Big Buck Hunter (total redneck game that we would have loved to play at Glory Days). Not so much at Silver Strike. But got to meet some really cool people and I'm feeling more at home here.

Job is going really well. My company just took over a company in Cincinnati. Then a company went bankrupt in Texas and we scooped up a couple of their sales reps and are adding new accounts from there. I'm pretty excited about that because I know a lot of people have been losing their jobs and so I worry with the economy.

Well, speaking of job security, I better sign off here and get back to work!!!

Colts Game!!

Well, I couldn't have had a more perfect game to choose to go to. I have to admit that after the way the Colts season has started, I was a little worried about going to the Ravens game. They looked tough against the Titans and we looked like crap against the Texans. But alas the tickets had been paid for so it was done. Our seats were on the 15 yard line on the Colts side 17 rows from the field. I NEVER want to sit anywhere else. They were awesome! Here was our view:

Anyway, I got these tickets through one of the colts players, #61 Jamey Richard. His fiance and I have become acquainted and I'm trying to weasle my way into the family. Jamey's dad Charlie sat with us for the game. Very funny guy, reminded me a lot of my dad. So I was talking to him and turns out he went to the same high school was my mom, except 8 years before her and he knew of my grandfather's Oldsmobile dealership in Garden City. It was pretty exciting...for me.

So, what I didn't realize was that when you don't have a dome anymore, the sun can be on you. All week I prayed that the roof would be open for the game and not once did I think to wear sunblock. We were in direct sun almost the entire game so not only was it hot but I got burned a little bit. I gotta get used to this no roof thing!

Of course, this picture was when the sun was behind one of the tracting bars. Anyway, so the game was awesome. We crushed the Ravens. Theresa invited us back for another game so I guses we behaved. Next weekened, the Colts play the Packers and I'm sure that will be an interesting game for Chris and I. :-) Here is a picture of the Colts offensive line with Peyton looking like he is an outcast. LOL!

Just seeing if it worked! I'm a genius!

Long time no talk

Okay, okay, I know that its been a couple months, but I'm very busy! School has been crazy busy. I've got one class finishing up this month so hopefully things will become a little less stressful. Things are going well though. Chris and I just got back from our first camping trip in Elizabethtown, KY with Dana and Howard. We had a lot of fun, but probably would have slept better if we had an air mattress. I was thanking God for the blessings he gave me on my chest because they made it a little more comfortable to sleep. Ha ha! We had little issue when we got home. We found out we couldn't get the Colts game on TV because the CBS network here is fighting with our cable company. So we had to rush to a bar so we could watch the Colts beat the Texans. All in all, the weekend was a success.

This weekend, Chris and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary. I can hardly believe that I kept a guy around this long! He must be a keeper! For our anniversary, we are going to the Ravens/Colts game and we are sitting in style. A friend of mine happens to be engaged to one of the Colts players and she very nicely got us 2 tickets. We don't find out exactly where they are til Sunday, but I don't really care where they are, as long as I'm there. I'll definitely try to figure out how to post pictures on here after the game.

Alright, well, I guess its back to the grind for me. I'm working a huge project right now at work which feels really good. As if I didn't have a bad enough fear of getting fired and then the economy goes to hell so now I'm even more worried. Go stockmarket!!

I can watch the NBA again!!

Well, I don't know how many of you know that I have been boycotting the NBA pretty much since I moved here. I refuse to watch a bunch of overpaid cry babies go to the strip clubs and shoot people. As of last night, allegedly, Roy Hibbert and Brandon Rush are going to the Pacers. I'm so excited to be able to $10 tickets to see two of my favorite basketball players! It's a great day!

Other than that, things are good here. Chris and I are doing very well. Chris got me the Wii Fit as a surprise a couple weeks ago so we're trying to lose weight. I feel like that commercial for whatever dietary supplement they are trying to get us to buy. Chris keeps dropping pounds and I will lose 2lbs and then gain 2lbs, then lose 2lbs, etc. But everyone says keep doing it and eventually my hard work will show.

This weekend, I'm going to my first backyard wedding. I'm not really sure what to wear. It's either going to be my overalls or my flannel dress from Target. Ha ha just kidding. But it should be fun. This couple is very into craft beers so I'm sure the alcohol will be fantastic. Too bad I'm not really drinking since I'm driving.

Anyway, that's really all for now. I'm going to Milwaukee for the fourth of July weekend. There is a huge summer concert series there so we're going to see Tom Petty, 311, and Stone Temple Pilots. We're also going to a Brewers game. There are going to be about 15 of us so it should be a really fun time. It's about a 4 hour drive there so you all know what that means!! No stopping! The new cruiser can go 7 hours without filling up. Go me!

Indy 500 Weekend

Well, it was 500 time again here in Indy. Always an exciting time especially since my dad and all of his friends come into town. Some of you are familiar with my dad's friends so you know I had good time. We went to the parade on Saturday which was a lot of fun. Some good celebrities there like Patricia Heaton (Everybody Love Raymond), The O-Jays, Slash, Kristy Yamaguchi (sp??), Ruth Buzzi, Florence Henderson, Jim Nabors, etc. After words we went to the Claddaugh for some car bombs and to sing songs. I have to say that when we got the bill, the first line said 27 Car Bombs.......$195.67. Whoops! I did not have a car bomb, but I took video footage and pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to post them sometime. That night we went to the Capital Grille for dinner (my favorite) and had an awesome meal.

Sunday we got up early to take our police escort to the race (ha all you peons that had to sit in traffic) and of course immediately walked to the track so we could view the "pagentry." It was awesome weather, not to hot, not too cold, no rain. Perfect!! Good race, a couple crashes in front of us. Both my guys in our pool went out about mid race almost at the same time. I believe on the same caution. Chris got a little toasty and might have lost his balance a couple times, but never actually fell. I made him buy a seat cushion which of course, got stolen. Not too many drunks this year or maybe b/c I was sober people weren't as amusing as usual.

Anywho, now I'm just trying to make time fly so this weekend will be here sooner. Chris and I are going to a baseball game on Friday night downtown. Always a good time and the best seats are $13. On Friday nights, they have fireworks after the game. Saturday night, Chris has challenged me to a Photo Hunt Competition with one of his friends. I'm a little worried because I haven't been training, but I think I can pull this off. People who think they are good haven't spent multiple hours after work playing this game. They don't even KNOW that you can hit above 400,000. Sunday we are hosting a mini BBQ in our courtyard. We are going to be playing cornhole and probably cooking brats. That's the thing to do out here, eat sausage and throw bean bags. I'm trying to decide on side dishes to serve. Any ideas?

Real Good Idea

So I created this blog to keep everyone caught up since I'm too busy to talk to everyone. Well, I'm too busy to keep updating this darn thing! Kansas was a blast. My dad and I spent a lot of QT together. We went to the track on Saturday and watched the IRL practices and qualifying. Then we went to dinner at the best steak house in Lawrence, Kansas. Let me tell you, I'd rather get a steak at Logans. It was awful and really upset my stomach. Sunday was race day! Jeff's girlfriend Kayla and his friend Brandon met us at the house to get ready to go tailgate. Well, we all got the bright idea of bringing liquor to the race. Not so bright. I have not been that drunk in a long time. In fact, the race ended, and I had no clue. That's how blitzed I was. I'm not doing that ever again. It was pure punishment having an hour drive to the airport and then two flights to get home. Needless to say, the no smoking policy at the airports didn't bother me one bit that day.

Since then, I've been working a lot and finishing up my spring semester. I took my math final last night and I'm done til after Memorial Day weekend. Then I start up another crazy semester. I'm taking three class this time. Two of them are for two weeks each (Intro to Business and Business Law) and then I'm taking my computer class online for 10 weeks. We will see how that goes. I've been preparing for my trip back to Virginia. Chris and I are both very excited to go on our first major road trip together and talk about our feelings the whole time. Ha ha, actually, Chris is very excited. He loves Glory Days and all my friends and the area in general. He asked if we could move there. I just laughed. We all know how much of an effort was put into getting to the point I'm at now so I'm not moving ANYWHERE!!

Well, I have to finish up some things here before I leave the office for 5 whole days so see you all tomorrow night at the Hole!

Leaving for Kansas!

So everyone, I'm leaving work here in about 15 minutes to catch a plane to Kansas. My dad and I are going to bum around Lawrence and eat steaks then on Sunday we are going to the IRL race. It should be tons of fun and I hope Danica Patrick comes in last place. Don't tell my dad I said that or else he won't pay for my steak. :-) I hope everyone has a great weekend, I hope I make my flight on time, and I hope my new contacts haven't shriveled up in my car because of the heat. I also hope that my migraine goes away before the pressure of the cabins clogs up my ears. Yeah, feel sorry for me.

Everyone else is doing it

Well, everyone else has a blog so I thought I would be a total follower. Plus, with working full time and school then I'm finding less time to talk to everyone on the phone. Today, I'm a little hung over because I went out for drinks after work with some co-workers and got a little excited about drinking b/c the waiter was HOT (and gay, boo) and some how I just kept ordering drinks. I have found my new favorite bar. :-) When I paid my tab, he brought back my receipt with a pen that was about a foot and a half long and very thick. I looked at him and he goes, girl, you know you wish it was that big. HA HA HA HA!

So yeah, my new job. I love it. I'm working at a company called Cannon IV. They sell and service printers. I work in the contracts department. That pretty much means that I bill everyone and make sure their contracts are up-to-date. It's a lot of fun and it's along the lines of what I want to do so now I feel silly being back in school. Oh well.

BTW, I hate Algebra. I have a test tonight on Chapter 6 and then am learning all of Chapter 7 after the test. My next class, Tuesday, is the test for Chapter 7. I have 3 more tests til my final and only 5 more classes left. You do the math. Oh and did I mention that I have to my final early so that I can come home on the 8th? This summer I'm taking three classes in 10 weeks. We'll see how that goes. Two of them, Intro to Business and Business Law are each 5 week courses. Then I'm taking a computer class online for 10 weeks. Its my first online class and I'm pretty nervous about it because its different when you have to go to class and see a teacher. Its another thing to just let it all be my responsibility. I hope I stay focused!

Well, I better get back to work. Besides, staring at the computer screen is giving me a headache. I can't wait to eat some greasy food on my lunch break. That will cure me!
